LRP’s two sister magazines, District Administration ( and University Business (, specialize in K-12 and Higher Education markets, and also produce cutting-edge conferences, leadership summits and products specifically for K-12 Educators, Principals, Superintendents, and C-level Executives at colleges and universities. 


We are currently looking for a talented Copy Editor, with a meticulous attention to detail, to join our established Editorial team as our final line of defense against writing and typographical errors in our magazines, websites and newsletters. We are looking to you to ensure that our writing is clean, grammatical and consistent with AP and our own house style. This is NOT a remote position and requires working in the Trumbull, Conn., office.


  • Skillfully complete final proofreading of all content — editorial, sponsored and corporate — in print and online, while adhering to extremely tight deadlines.
  • Participate in monthly editorial production process to get the magazines printer-ready.
  • Publish editorial content onto the websites via our web content management system.
  • Write articles and help produce the magazines’ e-newsletters on an as-needed basis.
  • Produce monthly promotional summaries of upcoming issue content for the Marketing department.
  • Keep house style guide up-to-date, helping to determine new style rules as needed.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism and/or related field.
  • 7+ years of solid experience as a copy editor and/or proofreader for an established daily newspaper or magazine.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AP style, and the ability to learn / adapt to our in-house style as well.
  • Experience with a web CMS, such as Drupal and/or WordPress.
  • Flexibility in prioritizing simultaneous projects.
  • Reside within 30 miles of our Trumbull, Conn., office location and the ability to work on-site on a day-to-day basis.
  • Candidates are required to submit a cover letter with application.  


Desired Qualifications:

  • News and/or feature writing experience for newspapers or magazines.
  • Subject-matter familiarity with K-12 and/or higher education issues.
  • Experience working in Adobe InCopy.
  • Experience with both editorial and marketing copy.
