As the Human Resources Specialist, your primary contributions will be in the operational areas of payroll and benefits.  This role is a good fit if you enjoy analytical work but also like to “switch gears” and work on special assignments, both as an individual contributor and as a member of a team. We are searching for our next Human Resource Specialist that will administer the payroll and benefits functions:

  • Full-cycle biweekly payroll and time card processing using ADP WorkforceNow and Kronos. Includes but is not limited to input, payroll auditing, distribution, records maintenance, wage garnishment processing, agency response
  • Leave of Absence management- full cycle responsibilities including but not limited to notification of rights, evaluation of leave entitlement, tracking and following-up on return and/or extension requests, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Benefits Administration- full cycle: ACA compliance, open enrollment, new hire enrollment. Assists with meeting set up, COBRA elections enrollment, follow-up on outstanding enrollment documents, resolve billing and enrollment discrepancies, deductions set-up, etc.
  • HR Assistance- quickly and accurately provide answers (written, text, email, phone, in person) to questions about benefits, payroll, company policies, leave status, etc.
  • Maintains all record-keeping requirements pertaining to employment law compliance, and ensure all annual employee notices required by applicable state and federal laws are communicated
  • Documents and updates policies and procedures relative to payroll and benefits in conjunction with the HR Department
  • Communicates with managers regarding performance management due dates and prepare/distribute/gather appropriate forms
  • Support team’s Human Resources and Organizational Development projects as needed

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field of study; In lieu of degree, 5+ years of proven payroll experience is acceptable.
  • 3+ years' experience in basic HR to include: administrating / processing payroll, benefits administration and reconciling deductions for a growing organization.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now (payroll), HRIS and self-service systems; advanced computer skills to include Excel.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in your work.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal payroll and benefit related tax regulations, legislation and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, especially those pertaining to compensation and benefits (COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Must reside within 30 miles of the Palm Beach Gardens, FL office location.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Kronos (time & attendance).
  • Multi-State experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications, experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
